NDF has announced their plans to launch a subsidiary company as an umbrella for their past, current and future genre films. The yet to be named arm will focus specifically on the development and production of horror pictures with budgets under $3M. The films moving to the new hub include the company’s first project Serial, their second feature Heredity (Post Production) and their biggest horror project to date Grinder (Development), among others.
NDF Producer/Partner Richard Clark Jr. said, “I love the genre, but as much as I love it I am starting to feel that New Daydream Films is being branded as strictly a company that produces horror films. That’s not the case so I don’t want the public opinion to reflect that it is.” NDF plans to have this new venture up and running in the early part of ’11.
Meanwhile, NDF filmmakers Richard Clark, Jr. & Kent Allen have just wrapped the T.V. series 'Tainted Love' by HalogenTV which will be airing nationally in early 2011 on HalogenTV. They are now in pre-production for their short film 'Angel of Hope' an inspirational drama piece about a young girl batteling leukemia, which is written and will be directed by Kent Allen. NDF is also in the final stages of development and will be moving into pre-production for their second T.V. Pilot 'Home' a drama mystery about a young mans father who goes missing for 23 years, then returns home the same age he was before he vanished. As of now, a shoot date is up in the air.
